This paper presents the concept of environmental design for crime prevention, research and practice, and standards and guides related to security lighting. Security lighting for emergencies is considered through the current of regular security lighting. Security lighting should be part of a total security system, and function in conjunction with other security measures. Security lighting requirements should be identified according to the security risk.
